Domestic adoption by foreigners residing in the Philippines

Dear PAO,

My wife and I are aliens. We have been residing in the Philippines for the past five years. My wife is gainfully employed, while I derive income from my business in the Philippines. Unfortunately, despite trying to have our own child, we are unable to do so. Thus, we decided to adopt a Filipino and would like to file for adoption. Should we file for domestic adoption or intercountry adoption?
