Delfin wins FIDE rated 1799-below chess tournament

Joel Delfin scored 5.5 points in six round and walked away with the title after prevailing in the tie-break in the 2023 Amateur Chess and Starshots Coffee FIDE rated 1799-below standard chess tournament at the Elyong's Restaurant in Commonwealth, Quezon City on Sunday, August 13.

Delfin finished the tournament tied with Jaime Criste and Jay Fortunado on top but ended up with the highest tie-break points to rule the 30 minutes plus 30 seconds time control event and go home with the trophy and the P6,000 prize.
