AYALA Corp.'s core net income rose 55 percent to P20.5 billion in the first half, boosted by large contributions from units of Ayala Land Inc. (ALI), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and energy firm ACEN Corp.

In a statement on Friday, the Zobel family-led conglomerate said that including one-off items, net income in the period was up 13 percent at P18.4 billion.
