A low pressure area (LPA) off Eastern Samar, combined with the southwest monsoon or "habagat", is bringing rain over Visayas and Mindanao, the state-run weather agency said on Friday.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said, however, that the LPA estimated some 310 kilometers east of Borongan City may dissipate within the next 24 hours.
