Tropical Storm 'Lan,' outside PH, intensifies — Pagasa

THE tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has escalated into a severe tropical storm (STS) but the state-run weather agency maintained on Wednesday that it would unlikely directly affect the country.

In fact, Severe Tropical Storm 'Lan' (its international name) would have a less chance to enter PAR during its forecast period, Weather Specialist Obet Badrina of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
