Imports needed, says AmCham exec

IMPORTATION is still an important part of ensuring the country's food security, an official of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (AmCham) said, citing the country's shortfall in agricultural production.

Christopher Matthew Ilagan, the AmCham Agribusiness Committee chairman, emphasized that the country's agricultural supply has limitations and that imports can augment the local food supply.
