Power forward Anthony Davis is going to don the purple and gold for the foreseeable future as he agreed to a three-year, US$186 million extension tying him to the Los Angeles Lakers until 2028. Davis will be earning US$62 million on average once his extension kicks in, making it one of the most lucrative deals in NBA history.

Davis, 30, is already under contract this season (US$40.6 million) and had an early contract termination option (US$43.2 million) for 2024-25. His new contract starts in 2025-26 and will pay him through his age 35 season.
