THE Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on Friday, August 4, that there is still a "relatively high unrest and an increased tendency towards hazardous eruption" on Mayon Volcano in Albay province.

This means that Alert Level 3 would stay over the volcano which is already close to two months with its current effusive activity since its alert status was raised on June 8, 2023, according to Phivolcs director Teresito "Toto" Bacolcol.
