Friendships

BEING friends with everybody is a good idea and it's healthy.

But what happens when one realizes that the friendship is not one of sincerity, caring and other basic elements of good social relationships? What if the friendship is only borne out of survival, practicality, politics, doesn't it border on hypocrisy? Isn't this type of friendship very temporary?
