PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday urged the Katipunan ng mga Artistang Pilipino sa Pelikula at Telebisyon (KAPPT) to aspire for higher standards for local films as he pledged the government's support to the sector.
"The Philippines has been well-known for many, many reasons. In terms of creatives, I think there is no need for much explanation. There are many directors who were awardees in international festivals, our actors have also been recognized in prestigious film festivals," he said during the oath-taking ceremony of the KAPPT officers as well as of its Board of Directors held in Malacañang.
