Dear PAO,
After a survey conducted by a geodetic engineer, we found out that the boundary of our neighboring parcel of land overlaps with our property. Following this discovery, we filed a complaint in court for the partial cancellation of the certificate of title of the neighboring land and the contract from which it was derived, and to reconvey the usurped property in our favor. However, a summons could not be served by the sheriff on the defendant because she had already migrated abroad a few years ago and has not returned to the country since then. I was advised that summons could also be served through extraterritorial service by publication. What is this mode, and when is it available?
