PLDT profit up 10% but subscribers fall

PLDT Inc. on Thursday reported that its net income grew by nearly 10 percent in the first half of the year, mainly due to the gains from tower sales and higher revenues from the home broadband and enterprise businesses.

Amid a challenging business environment, the telco saw subscribers fall to 70.68 million at the end of June from 74.12 million at the start of this year.
