METROPOLITAN Bank and Trust Co. (Metrobank) saw its net income rise by 34.1 percent to P20.9 billion in the first half of 2023 from P15.6 billion in the same period last year.
In a statement on Wednesday, the bank said the growth was supported by the company's asset expansion, higher margins, and strong fee income increase as it kept asset quality stable, resulting in a 12.9-percent return on equity, higher than the 10 percent posted in the previous year.
