FIDE Master Mark Jay Bacojo of Calabarzon and Lexie Grace Hernandez of the National Capital Region (NCR) walked away with the top individual honors but Northern Mindanao proved to be the biggest winner in the blitz competition of the 2023 Palarong Pambansa chess tournament held on Tuesday at the Community Hall of the Marikina Hotel and Convention Center in Marikina City.
Bacojo bagged the individual gold after scoring 6.5 points in the secondary boys division and teamed up with Rigil Kent Rosell Pahamtang who scored 3.5 points to claim the team gold.
