SUPERMARKETS, wholesales centers and delivery companies in Beijing increased their food supply capacity and stock amid high demand during the ongoing heavy rain. Some online delivery platforms increased stock for major categories of foods by 50 percent.

The grocery delivery business of Chinese delivery platform Meituan said on Monday that it has increased general stock by 20 percent and up to 50 percent for some major food categories. The platform reached its suppliers in advance and procured 1,000 tons of vegetable and 350 tons of poultry and egg in three days, the platform said.
