'Egay' destroys P64M in Negros agriculture

BACOLOD CITY: Floods caused by heavy rains enhanced by Super Typhoon 'Egay' destroyed P46,098,418 of agriculture, livestock and fishery products in Negros Occidental, data from the final situational report of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist showed.

The hardest hit was rice worth P38,056,228.11; high-value crops, P3,336,490; corn, P3,725,700; and fisheries, P980,000.
