THE province of Bulacan was placed under a state of calamity after most of its 24 municipalities and cities experienced severe flooding due to the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon "Egay".

Gov. Daniel Fernando on Monday announced the declaration of the state of calamity after members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Provincial Board) headed by presiding officer Vice Gov. Alexis Castro conducted a special session on Sunday night.
