SEN. Francis Tolentino said a joint disaster relief effort with China is more feasible for the Philippines amid a proposal for the two countries to conduct joint maritime patrols in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).
He said that it would be hard for Manila to accept Beijing's proposal for the conduct of bilateral patrols in WPS, considering that China is not a treaty ally nor has the Philippines any existing mutual defense treaty with the Asian superpower.
