LT. GEN. Roy Galido has been designated as the 66th commanding general of the Philippine Army (PA), taking over the post vacated by Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr.
Prior to being appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as the new Army chief, Galido was the commander of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division, the Army's largest division in the country, from August 2022 until he took over as head of the Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in January of this year.
