'Barbenheimer' blasts away box-office competition for 2nd week

NEW YORK CITY: A week after it began, the 'Barbenheimer' boom has not abated.

Seven days after they conspired to set box-office records, Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' and Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' remained strong in theaters. 'Barbie' took in a massive $93 million in its second weekend, keeping it in the top spot, while 'Oppenheimer' stayed in second with a robust $46.2 million, studio estimates showed on Sunday. Sales for the two movies dipped 43 percent and 44 percent, respectively, well shy of the usual week-two drops.
