NPA rebel slain in Sultan Kudarat clash

A COMMUNIST rebel was killed and two assault rifles were recovered by government troops who clashed with members of the New People's Army (NPA) in Kalamansig town, Sultan Kudarat province, on Friday.

Lt. Col. John Paul Baldomar, commander of the Philippine Army's 37th Infantry Battalion (37IB), said that the gun battle erupted after his troops encountered 20 NPA guerillas in Limulan village of the said municipality.
