IT was in July 1978, exactly 45 years ago, when the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) was established; borne out by the merger of the two business organizations — the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines and the Philippine Chamber of Industries — essentially to be the voice of business.

Through the years, PCCI has remained and maintained its stature as the unifying voice of business that has worked with the government in driving enterprises to become globally competitive while ensuring economic prosperity and growth for the country.
