Cignal secured the first spot in the battle for third place after scoring a 25-13, 25-15, 25-20 victory over Vietnam's Kinh Bac-Bac Ninh in the PVL Invitational Conference at the PhilSports Arena on Thursday, July 27.

Gel Cayuna tossed 24 excellent sets to lead the HD Spikers, who rose to third place in the six-team semifinals with a 2-3 slate and seven points.
