Cacao industry in Samar town gets boost

LAVEZARES, Northern Samar: The municipal government of Lavezares, a coastal town in the first district of Northern Samar, is looking to develop and promote its cacao industry in a bid to become the Cacao Capital of Eastern Visayas.

Mayor Edito Saludaga said the local government recently sponsored a symposium on cacao farming and marketing held at the MacArthur covered court in Barangay MacArthur and was graced by top cacao experts from Luzon and Northern Samar as speakers to help the local farmers.
