PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday vowed to explore "new areas of synergies" with Malaysia on halal-certified exports and Islamic banking that he expects to grow by trillions of dollars in the global market.

Marcos is in Kuala Lumpur for a three-day state visit upon the invitation of Sultan Abdullah, the king of Malaysia.
