Be prepared for AI technology, PH urged

A CONGRESSMAN on Sunday urged the country's policymakers, including lawmakers and the executive branch, to develop governance and ethics guidelines for the use, development and implementation of a national artificial intelligence (AI) strategy.

Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers, chairman of the House Committee on Dangerous Drugs, said authorities from the United States, Great Britain, the European Union and several Asean nations are rushing to establish laws to oversee the use of AI technology.
