Phivolcs warns of lahar flow in Albay

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay: The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) warned the Albayanos to brace for a possible lahar flow from Mayon following the projected weather disturbance in the coming days.

Dr. Paul Alanis, Phivolcs resident volcanologist in Bicol, said that about 16 to 17 million cubic meters of volcanic debris has been ejected by the volcano's continuing effusive eruption since June 9, 2023.
