PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has suspended classes in public schools and work in government offices in Metro Manila on Monday, July 24, 2023 due to inclement weather brought by Tropical Storm "Egay" and the scheduled transport strike, Malacañang said Saturday.

Presidential Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil said that Marcos issued Memorandum Circular 25 declaring the suspension "to ensure the safety of the public from the effects of 'Egay' and to alleviate the effects of the scheduled 72-hour transport strike." Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed the order on July 21.
