DURING his 46-day stint as "balik-scientist" at the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), Sergio Capareda, professor of Texas A&M University in the United States, developed work that helped boost the biomass renewable energy (RE) production of the Ilocos Norte-based MMSU.
Capareda took part in crafting MMSU's research proposals for funding such as waste-to-energy conversion systems via pyrolysis; rehabilitation of the university anaerobic digester; water harvesting concept; renewable energy science and technology park; green climate fund concept; and smart campus, city and transport.
