FACED with growing and complex national security risks and challenges, both domestic and foreign, China's top leadership has reviewed the cybersecurity work made in the past five years and emphasized adherence to several principles, such as the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) exercising leadership over cyberspace affairs and strengthened capability to ensure the country's cybersecurity, which experts said provided a clear road map to boost China's strength in cyberspace when it had become a main battlefield for rivalry between major powers.

Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the need to implement the important guidelines of the CPC Central Committee on boosting China's strength in cyberspace, and to vigorously advance the high-quality development of the work on cybersecurity and informatization, state-run Xinhua News Agency reported last weekend.
