BAGUIO CITY: City council members unanimously approved Resolution 229, series of 2023, declaring Mayor Ronald Adrian Nirenberg of San Antonio City, Texas, United States of America, as an 'Adopted Son' of Baguio City. The measure stated that Nirenberg's noble intention and effort toward visiting the Summer Capital for sisterhood ties 'would surely open countless opportunities and will widen the promotion of Baguio among other highly urbanized cities not only in the country but around the world.' 'To honor his outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to public service, and signifi-cant contributions to fostering the sister city relationship with Baguio, Nirenberg is now declared as a Son of Baguio City, Philippines,' the resolution added. A separate city council measure was approved unanimously, Resolution 448, series of 2023, declaring the period July 10 to 16 as Amity Week, and warmly received the delegates from San Antonio headed by Nirenberg. Copies of the resolution were awarded to Mayor Nirenberg and delegates by Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan, and councilors on July 12 during the special council session at Baguio City Hall.
