CAMARINES SUR Second District Rep. Luis Raymund "LRay" Villafuerte hailed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s renewed commitment to modernize the public transportation system and to revive the suspended, foreign-funded flagship project on a 600-kilometer (km) railway that will connect Metro Manila to Bicol.

Villafuerte is optimistic about the resumption of the stalled Philippine National Railways (PNR) South Long Haul project after President Marcos assured the public that his administration was "working hard to improve the country's transportation systems, operations, and management for the benefit of present and future generations."
