THE Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) revealed on Friday that it is closely observing the low-level activities of Taal Volcano in Batangas province before it decides to raise its current alert status to Level 2.

Phivolcs director Teresito "Toto" Bacolcol told The Manila Times in an exclusive interview that his agency issued an advisory on Thursday, July 13, over Taal's latest low-level activities.
