PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday expressed confidence that the government will achieve an "energy-secure future" for the Philippines as he called for stronger cooperation with the private sector in advancing affordable, reliable and clean energy in the country.

In his speech during the inauguration of the 24.9-megawatt (MW) Lake Mainit Hydro Power Plant in Jabonga, Agusan del Norte, Marcos promised that the government would continue to improve bureaucratic processes in the energy sector "to make it easier for investors to come in."
