THE Inter-Agency Energy Efficiency and Conservation Committee (IAEECC), in a resolution promulgated on July 7, 2023, urged all government agencies, including government-owned and -controlled corporations, state univer-sities and colleges, and local government units to use solar power to minimize the country's reliance on crude oil as fuel.

All government entities are given three years from the effectivity of the resolution to install solar photovoltaic systems or any equivalent renewable energy technology that will give them an initial supply of at least 20 percent of their electricity requirements.
