THE peso rose to a three-month high on Wednesday while the stock market returned to 6,400 territory as investors bet on a slowdown in US inflation, data for which was to be released later in the day.
The currency strengthened by 32 centavos to P54.93 against the dollar, a level last reached on April 11. It opened at P55.18:$1 and ranged from P54.93 to P55.18. Volume reached P1.362 billion, higher than the P1.262 billion recorded in the previous session.
