THE Eastern Visayas Regional Office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has been mobilized to help families who have been affected by the oil spill at the Port of San Ricardo town in Southern Leyte.

The oil spill, which is being investigated by the Philippine National Police Maritime Group, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the San Ricardo local government unit, posed a risk to at least two barangay (villages).
