The commencement exercises Monday at the City University of Pasay were bittersweet for a 65-year-old solo parent and a mother who stood in for her dead daughter.
Elisaldes Gurabil accepted the diploma for her daughter, Ruffa Mae, who died of thyroid cancer on Saturday, July 8, two days before she was to graduate.
