Latest economic data fails to boost peso, stock market

THE peso fell further and the stock market failed to sustain a morning rebound on Monday as investors found no comfort from the latest economic data.

The currency weakened by 7 centavos to P55.69 against the dollar, while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended the day up by less than a point — 0.69 or 0.01 percent — to 6,379.72.
