Georgian Pride event cancelled as far-right groups storm venue

Tbilisi, Georgia: Thousands of far-right Georgian protesters Saturday stormed the venue of an event planned for Tbilisi Pride week, forcing organizers to cancel it.

Homosexuality is still highly stigmatized in Georgia, where the powerful Orthodox Church has clashed with Western-leaning political parties on social issues.
