IM Pimentel tops Asenso Misamis Occidental chess tournament

International Master Joel Pimentel topped the Asenso Misamis Occidental National Open Chess Tournament held over the weekend at Aya Hotel and Residences in Clarin, Misamis Occidental.

The 30-year-old Pimentel, a chess teacher at BRD Chess Academy in Cebu, scored 8.0 points behind seven wins and two draws to pocket the P60,000 cash prize.
