Legazpi City: A month after the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) hoisted the alert level 3 over Mount Mayon, the volcano ejected a visible pyroclastic density current even as the lava dome collapsed at the summit, sending a cauliflower like type of ash at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 10.

Shortly after the volcano ejected the pyroclastic density current, Phivolcs released a bulletin at 8 a.m. stating that there is an increased activity at the volcano's summit crater.
