THE Department of Education (DepEd) has launched the School Building Program Monitoring System, with a pilot rollout implemented in Cebu City. The monitoring system rollout, spearheaded by the School Infrastructure and Facilities strand, aims to address pressing school-building-related issues and emphasizes the importance of open communication and sharing plans, timelines and objectives with different organizations.
The General Appropriations Act also provided a special provision in the Basic Education Facilities Fund to capacitate and involve civil society organizations as partners of the DepEd to monitor the construction of school buildings and other infrastructure projects.
