Bacolod wants more proactive emergency

BACOLOD CITY: Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez wants to strengthen the city's emergency response system after personally witnessing the difficulty faced by firefighters in battling the fire that occurred in Purok Magnolia, Barangay 7, on Wednesday night.

Benitez said there are 119 red zones in Bacolod, which are communities that cannot be reached by fire trucks because of narrow pathways and obstructions.
