HEALTH and human rights organization Medical Action Group (MAG) said that less than 50 percent of Filipinos are unaware of being covered by the Philippine Health Insurance Corp., as health care costs have increased by 117 percent, which, according to the group, places the country's health system in the "intensive care unit."
Based on the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), 30 percent said that they were unaware of PhilHealth, a decrease from 34 percent.
