SEN. Christopher Lawrence 'Bong' Go, chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, is spearheading several priority initiatives to strengthen the health sector, including the continued operation of Malasakit Centers, the expansion of Super Health Centers, and the establishment of Regional Specialty Centers.

Go is the principal author and sponsor of Republic Act (RA) 11463 or the 'Malasakit Centers Act of 2019' which institutionalized the Malasakit Centers program. These one-stop shops aim to support particularly poor patients in reducing their hospital bills.
