A FAR-FLUNG community in Isabela province will finally have potable water because of the construction of a solar-powered water pump system by the Department of Science and Technology (DoST) in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley). Their residents no longer have to journey long distances just to get the essential liquid.
This project was made possible through the DoST Community Empowerment Science and Technology (CEST) program, said Oliver Baccay, Philippine Information Agency Region 2 assistant director. It was also done in partnership with the Philippine National Police, the local government unit of San Guillermo town and various agencies.
