"The Bear" is back! It is currently my favorite thing on streaming. It has no special effects, no superheroes, no dragons, no exotic settings, and it runs for 30 minutes per episode. The characters are just so well-written, and the cast is great.
Season 1, which aired last year on Hulu (and is now out on Disney+ in the Philippines), was about Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a young, decorated New York chef who returns to Chicago to run "The Original Beef of Chicagoland" after the death of his brother, Michael. The Italian beef sandwiches all look downright delectable and ultra-satisfying, but behind the scenes of the shop, it's utter chaos caused by the mix of some of the most fun and lovable characters on screen today.
