FORMER Education secretary Leonor Briones said all was not lost in the Philippine educational system, as some public schools perform well on par with Singapore and some EU countries.
Briones made the statement as she looked back at the performance of the Philippines at the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2018 during the "Youth Summit 2023: Transforming Education in Southeast Asia" held at the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (Seameo) Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology (Innotech) in Quezon City on June 27.
