CLIMATE-INDUCED inflation shocks can be better addressed via nonmonetary measures, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said, given the lag associated with monetary policy adjustments.

"Timely implementation of nonmonetary policy interventions is crucial in addressing temperature shock-induced supply constraints, with appropriate monetary policy adjustments as complementary measures," the central bank said in its latest sustainability report.
